I have thought about doing this in the past but have yet to do it. You could try having a single search bar that will search Torrents, Forums, and Users.  You can place radio buttons just below the single search bar and user can choose which one they want to search.  This just a idea, but like I said I have thought about this just not added it to any of my themes yet.
