CodeMonkey

My site runs both memcache-xampp so here's the guide

Ok took me ages to get it to install right so here it is (Linux n00b)

1. Download xampp development package
wget http://www.apachefriends.org/download.php?xampp-linux-devel-1.7.3a.tar.gz

2. Then extract with command:
tar -xzf xampp-linux-devel-1.7.3a.tar.gz -C /opt/

3. Get Memcached
wget http://pecl.php.net/get/memcache-3.0.5.tgz

4. Then extract with command:
tar -xzf memcache-3.0.5.tgz

5. Install memcache extension:
cd memcache-3.0.5
/opt/lampp/bin/phpize

Then you should see something like this.
Configuring for:

PHP Api Version: 20041225

Zend Module Api No: 20060613

Zend Extension Api No: 220060519
6. Run.
./configure --enable-memcache -
Do NOT PM me directly post in the forums so other users can benefit also :) If you like my posts 1+rep me :)

the most errors happen when you chose wrong php_memcache.dll.

putyn

if you followed the tut posted and you didn't get any errors it should work
if you have any errors post the errors here

putyn

why are you people lazy and use xampp instead of installing every package ? install every package from terminal or synaptic and everything will work just fine

The only advice i can give is google yer arse off Large and you will eventually find a guide that will work for you, do not let a memcache install beat you, once you've got it running and see what the code runs like you'll understand what i mean. I run a Win7 True 64 bit webserver so i cant really help with advice on this but most others on the test server do.
i will try to it ! :D
